Artur Podlesny

Concertmaster

Artur Podlesny was born in 1980 in Kharkiv, Ukraine. He studied at the Gnessin Academy of Music in Moscow as well as at the Robert Schumann University of Music in Düsseldorf (with Rosa Fain), graduating with distinction in 2006. Artur Podlesny is a prizewinner of various violin and chamber music competitions, including the Vladigerov Violin Competition in Shumen, Bulgaria, and the Shostakovich Competition in Moscow. He has also received a DAAD Award.

He regularly performs as a soloist and chamber musician in his native Ukraine and in other European countries. Artur Podlesny is a permanent member of the HABA Quartet in Frankfurt am Main.

His orchestral career began in 2002 as an intern with the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra. In 2003, he played in the orchestra academy of the Aalto Theatre with the Essen Philharmonic and later became a permanent member of that orchestra. In 2008, Artur Podlesny joined the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra (hr-Sinfonieorchester) as a member of the first violin section. Since the beginning of the 2016/17 season, he has been the Associate Concertmaster of the Frankfurt Opera and Museum Orchestra. He is a permanent member of the Estonian Festival Orchestra (EFO) under the direction of Paavo Järvi.
